Discontinued collectible statues become harder to identify when retailer pages disappear, titles change or promotional photography is removed. A durable record preserves the exact name, maker, code, scale, edition and credited images.
Retired collectible statues and sold out collectible statues are not automatically rare or valuable. Collectors trying to find discontinued statues should first prove identity and completeness, then evaluate condition and transaction evidence separately.
Start with permanent identifiers
Look for markings on the base, packaging labels, certificates and product numbers. Character name alone is weak evidence when a maker has released several versions.
Compare archived photography

Research the secondary market carefully
Use completed transactions rather than optimistic asking prices. Condition, repairs, missing parts, packaging and shipping risk can materially change what two apparently identical pieces are worth.
